Terms of Service & Client Protection

Clear expectations for hourly work, ownership, confidentiality, and ending an engagement.

01Hourly Billing & Tracking

Client engagements are billed by the hour for work performed by the assigned specialist. Work time is tracked against the agreed tasks and reported for review.

Hours are invoiced weekly. You may pause or end an engagement at any time; there are no monthly retainers or long-term commitments.

02Intellectual Property

Upon creation, the client owns the deliverables produced specifically for the client under the engagement, including code, spreadsheets, ledgers, and other agreed work product.

This ownership does not extend to a specialist's pre-existing materials, general skills, or tools that are not created specifically for the client.

03Confidentiality & NDAs

Talent and platform operations are subject to confidentiality obligations covering non-public information shared for an engagement.

Specialists must execute the applicable non-disclosure agreement before receiving access to confidential client information and are expected to use approved, secure access practices.

04Talent Non-Circumvention

Clients and talent agree to keep engagements initiated through ViaHourly on the platform and not use exchanged contact details to bypass ViaHourly for the same engagement.

Please contact ViaHourly if you need help changing the scope, pausing work, or arranging a different working relationship.

05Limitation of Liability & Termination

Either party may end or pause an engagement at any time without a termination penalty or advance-notice requirement. Clients remain responsible for approved work already performed.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, ViaHourly is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from an engagement. These terms do not limit liability where the law does not permit such a limitation.
